About this role
La Buona Trattoria & Bisteccheria del Nonno, a family-run Italian restaurant with over 60 years of family heritage, is looking for an experienced Head Waiter / Head Waitress to lead the floor. The restaurant serves wood-fired steaks and handmade pasta, hosts live music every Tuesday and Thursday, and caters for events of up to 250 guests. This is a career role. Part-time hours and pay are agreed individually.
Responsibilities
- Lead the floor during service and uphold the restaurant's standards
- Guide guests through the menu, steaks and wine list with real knowledge
- Run group bookings and events, from birthdays to staff parties of 200+
- Look after every table, from the first welcome to the last digestivo
Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior waiter, head waiter or supervisor
- Excellent spoken English and confident guest communication
- Strong food, wine and beverage knowledge
- Natural leadership, initiative and impeccable presentation
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Available evenings, weekends and for busy events
- Italian or Maltese is a plus
- Existing legal right to work in Malta. Non-EU applicants need valid Maltese work authorisation and the Skills Pass

Working hours (full-time, approx. 38.5 hrs/week)
- Monday to Friday: 6pm to midnight, one weekday off
- Saturday: 11am to 4pm and 6pm to close
- Sunday: 11:30am to 5pm
