The Transport Dispatcher will be responsible for allocating bookings to available drivers and vehicles, maintaining clear communication during live operations, and providing structured shift handovers. The role requires prioritising several live tasks while maintaining accurate records and clear communication.
What you'll do
- Allocate bookings according to vehicle suitability, availability and agreed service priorities
- Monitor progress and contact drivers about delays, changed pickup details or cancellations
- Update customers and escalate missed pickups or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain an accurate dispatch log and record reasons for service exceptions
- Coordinate planned bookings with customer service and vehicle availability with maintenance
What we're looking for
- Ability to prioritise several live tasks while maintaining accurate records
- Clear telephone and written communication and confidence using maps and dispatch software
- Experience in dispatch, coordination or customer service, or equivalent demonstrable capability
- 1-2 years' experience
- Languages: English
